SONS OF THE PROPHET

Most often I dream music. The recently I had this very vivid parable dream and felt impressed to get up and write it down and share it. Here is  the parable that I dreamed.  (Photo courtesy of Keena Murray Charbonneau... road to Hyderabad in India). This actual location is identical to the path that i saw in this and several other visions and dreams ... odd...

Sons of the ProphetA parable given by The Holy Spirit
4/22/12. GSwindell
There was a prophet and his 3 sons who lived in a certain place. Early in the morning at the time of prayer the Lord spoke to the prophet and said," will you go where I send you?" And the prophet said, "my very life is to do your will". God smiled, and said, "take your sons and go where I send you today". The prophet prepared food for a day's journey and woke his sons and said we are on a mission today let's go. The sons knew their father well enough not to even ask where they were going but walked a half day's journey with their father, singing and worshipping God as they went, and finally the eldest son said, "father what is the mission?"  The second son said, "is it much further?" and the youngest son just smiled and offered food and water as they travelled. Finally the prophet stopped to rest and told his sons: "The Lord sends us to the house of a very great man to tell the word of the Lord. But when we get there the keepers of the gate do not know us and will not want to let us pass". The prophet took the opportunity to test his sons. He asked the eldest, "what would you say to the keeper of the gate?" The elder son said, "father I have seen the Lord do many amazing things at your word . If the man does not obey you and let us through you could tell his heart to stop beating until we pass."  Then the second son said: "Or you could speak to the rain and cause lightning to come down if he does does not obey you."  The prophet wept, and said: "My sons, somehow I have failed you. You do not know what spirit we are of. Rest now, and ask our God to change your hearts." After a short rest they journeyed on, til they arrived at the estate of the great man. The prophet said to the keeper of the gate:  "Sir i would speak to the great man of this house. I have a very important message that he must receive." And the keeper of the gate drew his weapon to threaten the prophet and his sons. The youngest son asked his father:  "May I speak?" The prophet said:  "Speak my son." The younger son said to the keeper of the gate:  "Sir put away your weapon, we are a mission from the God of heaven and earth. We come to bless and not harm". The guard became even more angry. He said: "Get away from my gate you vagabonds I don't know you or your God". The sons looked at their father to say what now? The prophet smiled and said to his sons, "learn today.. Go over by the tree, take some water and wash your faces and hands. Watch, listen, and be ready". The young men did as they were told. Then the prophet walked up to the keeper of the gate again. Again he drew his weapon. The prophet smiled, and calmly said to the man: "The God of heaven whose voice I hear, and whose whose word I speak, has sent me to this house and to you. Hear the word of the Lord". and he told the gate keeper all about his life from his childhood to the time of becoming a gatekeeper and let him know how relationship with God was what he had been missing. The gatekeeper rejoiced and called for his fellows and said: "watch the gate while I take the man of God and his sons to our employer for he has come to bless us all!"  The great man of the house received the prophet and his sons with joy, for he had been praying for guidance from God for some time and when he tried to understand scripture he could not. The prophet opened his understanding about relationship with the God of heaven through the sacrifice of Christ, that the grace of God is available to all because of the finished work of Christ! The prophet and his sons returned home the next day rejoicing. The sons had learned that they were not to abuse the authority of God and cause harm or fear but to use every opportunity to bless, encourage, and instruct just like their father.
