Black Nativity Savannah 2018

9th Year Production of Black Nativity Complete!
Prepping for our 10th!
Joy to the World - Jenique and lead singers Chorus

Oh Jerusalem - Pastor Ken & the guys
This year's production included a lot of firsts! New Voices, New Music, New Instrumentation, New Characters on stage, New Venue. With all the changes and additions - The same heart of dedication, fun, and hard work to bring the best performances possible persists no matter what !!!   Our partnership with Branded Hearts and First Congregational Church as rehearsal and meeting venues in our prep throughout the year made all the difference in the world since PAC is still in the market for office and rehearsal space of our own. With special thanks to our cast member Sharon Wanda Aikens -The Performance venue -First Jerusalem Baptist - this year was the largest so far with great sound and tech and they were extremely welcoming and supportive of the production. We pray the production brought people to them that maybe didn't previously know of their wonderful ministry location.

Our production has always operated by and for family dynamic but this year has been especially so for us more of the cast and crew were direct family relations  from the Music and stage direction by husband and wife team Gary and Priscilla Swindell and both their biological offspring Nia & Gary Jr. on lead vocals who added a new song he composed and performed in the show "Come Meet the Lord" as well as Godson Clifford rocking the drums, & Godsis Juliette Bee. Also onstage Jana Biggins and her 2 daughters and Ms Sharon Wanda Aikens and her granddaughter.

Producer / Choreographer Muriel and her son Josh serving as Assistant Musical Director as well as Muriel's eldest son the amazing Alex who brought a whole new dynamic as the Roman Soldier character.
Roman Soldier - Alex about to meet the Lord

Chosen duet - Pastor Ken and Nia

Laurent White's son Melvin also joined the cast this year as a lead vocalist. Sisters Nia and Taylor Brown also shone brighter than before. Along with the natural biological connections the entire cast  is connected in the bond of love, support, and mutual admiration of the love of God that flows through each so we are all actually family from the youngest (Baby Jesus) to the eldest (Laurent)lol!!..

Violist Jalin Graham
Our instrumentation was a little different this year- Cliff continued on Drums, Mike on Percussion, and Thomas on Sax were awesome as always but Christian couldn't make it in from school at Berklee in Boston in time for the show to hold down the bass. My new mentee, Savannah Arts Academy student Jalin Graham joined us this year on Viola and his sound and creativity was an astounding addition.
